After only one day of sparring, Roach is happy with Castillo's acquisition

As the weather clears in the City of Pines, Manny Pacquiao's once stormy training camp has also brought forth brighter times.

Pacquiao was set to spar against fresh meat in the likes of the not so fresh but highly decorated Jose Luis Castillo of Mexico. Although forecast from a few doubting Thomases figured the acquisition to be disastrous because of Castillo's age, no less that boxing's Nostradamus himself Freddie Roach has given his stamp of approval after only the first day of his ward's sparring session with the grizzled Mexican veteran.
