Cotto Not the same Fighter he was Before Margarito's beating

Pacquiao Cotto 24/7
Boxing critics are saying that Puerto Rican boxer Miguel Cotto is no longer the same fierce and powerful boxer that he was before his last encounter with Antonio Margarito. His slipping reputation puts him as the underdog in the upcoming 'Firepower' match
In July last year, Miguel Cotto suffered the worst beating in his boxing career against Antonio Margarito who gave the Puerto Rican undefeated champion his first loss as a professional boxer.
Cotto's first loss in his boxing career must have affected his confidence as he went on to face Michael Jennings in his first recovery fight after seven months of soul searching. Cotto's first defeat against Antonio Margarito was so devastating that his handlers threw towels inside the ring to signal the referee to stop the fight. He was blooded all over and was later hospitalized.
Margarito's handlers may have cheated in their last encounter as the Mexican boxer was caught with a plaster substance inside his gloves in his fight with Shane Mosley. Margarito lost and was subsequently suspended from professional boxing in California for one year.
But the damage has been done and Cotto had to move on. In June this year Cotto tried to show the world that he is still a force to reckon with in boxing. He squared off with Joshua Clottey of Ghana at the Madison Square Garden in New York. The fight was seen by fans and observers as his poorest ring performance ever. Some say that he was not the same Cotto they knew before his first loss to Antonio Margarito.
USA Today reports:

Now, the 28-year-old from Caguas, Puerto Rico, has seen his fierce reputation slipping. His critics say he cuts too easily, does not have the chin to take Pacquiao's speed and power punches and is not the same fighter he was before Margarito's beating.

Whether Cotto's slipping reputation is the result of his devastating loss to Margarito or his poor showing with the Ghanian boxer, his critics are saying that the Puerto Rican favorite is evidently not the same fierce Cotto that he was before his loss to Margarito.
Cotto is on the last leg of his training in Tampa, Florida for his rare opportunity to prove his worth against the world's most popular boxer, Manny Pacquiao of the Philippines.
The Pacquiao-Cotto match will happen on November 14 at the MGM Grand garden arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
