Cotto won't stand up long against Pacquiao November 14

Pacquiao Cotto 24/7 Episodes
Unless Manny Pacquiao happens to catch Miguel Cotto cold with a big punch early, I believe Cotto's body betrays him starting in round five anyway and this fight ends soon after.

I read about Cotto's training for this fight. However, what was going on in Puerto Rico a month ago and currently in the Tampa, FL training camp, while admirable and professional, and makes good theater, this fight is already over. I believe both Freddie Roach and promoter Bob Arum know this.

However everyone involved has to go through all the motions to get paid.

This is why Cotto is getting this fight. So Floyd Mayweather, Jr has time to come off his 22 - month layoff and and prepare for the next megafight, Manny Pacquiao vs. Floyd Mayweather, Jr. in 2010. While Pacquiao fans believe he's coming off of a "big win over a big puncher."

Do you really think you put Pacquiao in with a puncher (Cotto) that can still punch? It's really all Cotto can do anyway.

Cotto has had some tough fights coming up the ranks, but his last two fights with Antonio Margarito and Joshua Clottey pretty much ruined him at age 28. Such is life.

As NY Examiner Michael Marley might say about any fighter that has been around too long, "He's a punched ticket."

Cotto had a three - fight stretch in 2004 - 2005 against DeMarcus "Chop Chop" Corley (dropped), Randall Bailey, and Mohamad Abdulev that I thought would have done in many other fighters. He got through it though and showed the heart we know he has, but he paid a horrible price.

I know Pacquiao fans are going to say that my comments are meant to take away from a Pacquiao victory. But this is not the case at all.

I believe Pacquiao has been the best fighter in the world for two years and eventually rank as an all-time great and member of the International Boxing Hall of Fame.

Cotto seems to always be getting on the job training. He was not a natural. He made himself a world-class athlete and wonderful boxer through hard work and discipline. He also had excellent training.

So I expect nothing less than a world - class effort and skill - level when the bell rings. But Cotto will unravel soon enough and be easy pickings for Pacquiao. He's damaged goods to me.
