UFC in big trouble with their battle against Manny Pacquiao on November 14th

On November 14th the UFC and Manny Pacquiao are going head to head in the second installment of boxing vs. MMA 2009. And as of this moment, the UFC is in big trouble. With about 2 months left, all signs point to Pacquiao winning by an early round KO over the UFC.
Initially, UFC 105 was to be headlined by BJ Penn who is arguably one of the most popular fighters in the UFC. Well, that’s no longer going to happen because Penn is now scheduled to fight at UFC 107 on December 12th.

Next, there were rumors of MMA’s pound for pound best fighter Anderson Silva fighting at UFC 105. But, these rumors were squashed by the reports that Silva wants to take time off and he might also need elbow surgery.

As of right now, UFC 105 is headlined by Michael Bisping. Yeah, most casual MMA fans probably don’t know who he is. And those who do know who he is don’t like him unless they are from his home land of Great Britain; which by the way is the location for UFC 105.

So, we have a fighter that most Americans don’t care about and that isn’t popular enough to even compete in the ratings with reruns of “Scooby Doo.” Not very smart when you are going against the most popular boxer in the world.

As I already mentioned, the fight takes place in England and the UFC will air the event by tape delay on Spike TV. Why even bother watching the fights if you can find out the results before the tape delayed broadcast is aired?

If no headliners, location, and tape delays weren’t enough to decide the battle the UFC goes and shoots itself in the foot by scheduling UFC 106 just 1 week later. This event is headlined by Brock Lesnar who is turning into a PPV powerhouse with his 1.6 million PPV buys for UFC 100 in July.

Why should we care about some fight overseas when we can wait a week and watch one that really matters? Why wouldn’t the UFC load up their show against Pacquiao? Why run 2 events just 1 week apart? None of this makes any sense,

Unlike their battle with Floyd Mayweather Jr on September 19th, the UFC isn’t doing anything to try and hype up their fight on November 14tt with Pacquiao. In their battle with Floyd, UFC has headliners, 2 shows premiering 3 days ahead of time, Kimbo Slice, and they’re airing the undercard of UFC 103 live on TV. They're not doing anything like this for their November 14th match-up with Manny Pacquiao. If this is the case, then why not just move the UFC fight to another date and save yourself from being humiliated.

Ok, We’ve just looked at the UFC’s side of this battle; now let’s look at Pacquiao’s side of the battle.
