Floyd Mayweather Sr. called me a jokester and turned down my interview request

Pacquiao vs Cotto News
"Hey there jokester!"

That was the greeting Floyd Mayweather Sr. gave me when he answered my call today. He didn't even wait for me to say "Hello". Needless to say, I guess my recent articles and my body of work have been brought to their attention.

Question: What is the first name of the famous Kenny G.?

Give up?

Answer: John F. (think about it). Well since Floyd Sr. said I'm a jokester, I figured I tried my hand in it.

I admit, I have been critical of the Mayweathers, but I'm just calling it like I see it. But when some assuming people say that I am simply a Mayweather detractor, then I can't disagree any more. I have in fact called Mayweather the best boxer in the past, it's just that I think Manny Pacquiao is the best fighter. Then again, every person is entitled to their own opinion, interpretation and conclusion.

No real news here, just an update on my ongoing quest to try and get Floyd Mayweather Sr. for an interview to get his thoughts behind the whole controversy on the steroids statements he made against Manny Pacquiao.

"I heard the Filipinos are mad at me" is what he said in an interview with his preferred interviewer Percy Crawford at FightHype.com.

But when I urged Sr. to do finally do the interview that didn't happen a couple of nights ago, this writer was again turned down. I guess I will never get to do an interview with Floyd ever, but it's cool. It's not like I'm going to go Justin Timberlake and cry me a river.

At least my call was not rejected this time around. At least Floyd Sr. was kind enough to tell me what he thought about me and that is "a jokester." However, the real feedback however that I want together with the fight fans is about his, in his own words, honest opinion and belief that Manny Pacquaio is on some kind of "subtams". My friend translated it for me and said the word subtams meant "substance". (Add that to the growing D Source Boxing dictionary with 'malignaggied')

All jokes aside from this 'jokester', all I really want is the truth behind Mayweather's statements. I'm not here to make friends or be cool with all the cool kids in boxing. I'm here to write and give the readers what they want. And "the truth", is one of those wants. I wanted to ask what proof Floyd has to expose Pacquiao if he is indeed cheating because as big as FightHype's headline saying Floyd Sr. knew Filipinos are mad at him for his statements on this steroids issue, the interview didn't really yield anything about the topic. As much as I respect Percy as I myself used to write for FightHype and they're doing their grind over there, I don't know why they did not press Floyd Sr. to get more out of him on this highly controversial matter that the public has been definitely asking for. Then again maybe that's why they get interviews from Floyd Sr. and I don't. What do I know about the Floyd Sr. interview business right?

I can only guess why I don't get interview time with Floyd Sr. Maybe they just think I suck as a writer, or that my last name is too Filipino, or maybe I got a big head and that I may be taking subtams or I guess I just come off as a jokester. (Note to self: 1. Go to hospital and get checked. Maybe those 'Sisigs' and San Mig Lights have steroids in it and led to the enlargement of your head. But girls love my big head though and a lot of dudes pay a lot of money and buy those informercial drugs just to make their head bigger. 2. Quick joking around too much so you can get an interview with Floyd Sr.)

Okay, here's my attempt.

Somehow, I thought journalism was about finding the truth. And if it isn't, perhaps I'm one of the few outside the loop in this hype-driven industry. I guess that's why Floyd Sr. thinks I'm funny- or a jokester- ya digg?!
