FOY? Freddie Roach vs. Floyd Sr.

Pacquiao vs Cotto Online Live Streaming
Floyd Mayweather Jr. was utterly dominant in his comeback bout against Juan Manuel Marquez Saturday night, but in the wake of his performance Freddie Roach was quick to dismiss it. Meanwhile, Floyd Mayweather Sr. was quick to dismiss Manny Pacquiao. As it should be.

“Mayweather is not exciting for me,” Roach told the Manila Times in Baguio City, Philippines, where Manny has begun training for his November 14 fight with Cotto. “He did not get the job done as expected.”

Floyd Sr. ain’t that impressed with Manny, either.

“I think that right there showed the world enough to know that Pacquiao don’t want none of‘ Li'l Floyd," Papa Mayweather said to Fanhouse. "Not that he’s smaller, he don’t have no skills… He ain’t got skills for my son, that’s what I’m tryna tell you."

Actually, Floyd Sr. had voiced that opinion before Saturday night’s fight, but let's not ruin a good thing on a technicality.

I become thrilled with joy every time these two trainers oppose each other, which seems to be pretty much always now, even if it’s in an indirect manner like this one.

I'm convinced that they need their own PTI-like crossfire show, in which Freddie shows sincere agitation at the catcalls of his nemesis.

In case you didn’t know, Coach Roach holds genuine comtempt Floyd Sr. Why, you ask? Well, just take a look at the video below, from a Roach interview with Brian Kenny on Friday Night Lights shortly after the Hatton destruction.

Kenny reads a question from a viewer that asks Roach if he really dislikes Floyd Sr., or if it was merely an act for the “24/7” cameras. Roach’s response was startling.

“No, I dislike him… He disrespects me all the time,” said Roach. “You know, Cockroach Roach, Clef Roach, stuff I heard in second grade. I know it’s kind of childish, but it doesn’t make me happy.”

In related news, Freddie Roach is 49 years old.

Is there anything funnier than the thought of two middle-aged men engaging in such behavior? Actually, Floyd Sr. was actually only trying to sell the fight; Roach takes it totally serious. In this situation I’m afraid there is only one fool. And I like Roach, I like him a lot.

But the way I see it, everybody's talking about Cotto-Pac, Pac-Money, Money-Mosley, and all of the potential matchups that we could see in the near future, when the best one might be Roach vs. Floyd Joy.

They could set it up like a presidential debate. I’d sure as hell watch.
