Exclusive video: Manny Pacquiao 'a dangerous machine' says Freddie Roach

Freddie Roach receives so many plaudits – but insists that Manny Pacquiao makes it easy for him. But they do make a great team.

There are some wonderful words from Roach on Pacquiao, on the eve of his meeting with Miguel Cotto in Las Vegas.

Roach says that from day 1, Pacquiao has improved through grit and determination. “He now has great power, great speed. And he’s now a very dangerous guy. He’s a machine. You wind him up, you let him go. He’s so different now. He’s gone from 112 lbs to 147lbs and he still being competitive”

“Henry Armstrong was the last to do that kind of thing. Manny’s a throwback. He’s unbelievable. People ask me ‘When are we going to see the next Manny Pacquiao ?’ We’re not, not in my lifetime, or in your lifetime going to see another Manny Pacquiao. He’s a one-off. Fighters like him don’t come around that often. He saved my life eight years ago. He walked into this gym, an hour later I was his new trainer, and a month later, he won his first world title.”

“He’s a guy who still wants to work so hard, and that makes it so much more enjoyable.
